While Maltese are known for having some reddish staining from their tears due to the ease with which their snowy white hair can pick up color, Outlaw is also just a really enthusiastic little eater. The extra staining around his face and paws is evidence of the way he dives facefirst into his dinner - front paws in the bowl too. We ween our puppies from their mothers onto a nutrient rich homemade wet-food diet made from real ingredients such as fresh goat’s milk, ground turkey, carrots, kidney beans, sweet potato, and more. As he transitions over time to dry kibble (and learns to be more dignified at mealtime), the hair around his snoot and on his little front paws should stay as pearly white as the rest of him.
For now, he’s a confident little hot mess and we like him that way.
